Robert Gunnarsson is the sole proprietor of Gunnarsson Law.

Robert has more than two decades of litigation experience. Before establishing Gunnarsson Law, he practised at a major downtown Vancouver law firm and with smaller litigation firms. His broad litigation background allows him to assess employment disputes not only as legal questions, but also as practical problems involving evidence, negotiation, risk and litigation strategy.

​​

Robert represents employees in matters involving wrongful dismissal, severance, constructive dismissal, employment contracts, workplace discrimination and other serious employment disputes. He provides candid advice about the strengths and weaknesses of each case and focuses on achieving sensible results without unnecessary delay or expense.

​

He has appeared before the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Provincial Court of British Columbia and has been involved in proceedings before the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also represented clients before administrative tribunals, including the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, and previously served as an adjudicator with a provincial tribunal.

Originally from Iceland, Robert holds a Master’s degree in philosophy from UBC and earned his law degree at the University of Victoria.

Outside of law, he’s a father of five, a devoted hiker and fisherman, and a lover of good books and strong coffee.​
